Dexamethasone Eye&Ear Drops | 10mg/10ml | 1Bottle/box |
Dexamethasone Eye & Ear Drops are a combination medication containing dexamethasone, a potent corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. These drops are specifically formulated for use in the eyes and ears to treat various inflammatory conditions affecting these organs. Dexamethasone acts by suppressing inflammation, reducing swelling, and alleviating symptoms such as pain, redness, and itching associated with ocular and otic disorders.
Ocular Inflammation: Dexamethasone Eye Drops are indicated for the treatment of inflammatory conditions affecting the eyes, including allergic conjunctivitis, uveitis, episcleritis, and keratitis. They help reduce inflammation, redness, and discomfort associated with these conditions.
Otic Inflammation: Dexamethasone Ear Drops are indicated for the treatment of inflammatory conditions affecting the external ear canal, such as otitis externa (swimmer's ear) and allergic ear conditions. They help alleviate itching, swelling, and pain in the ear canal and promote resolution of inflammation.
Dosage and Administration:
Dexamethasone Eye & Ear Drops are administered topically, with the exact dosage and frequency determined by the prescribing healthcare provider based on the specific condition being treated and the patient's response to therapy.
For ocular use, the drops are instilled into the affected eye(s) according to the prescribed dosage regimen. The patient should tilt their head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid, and instill the prescribed number of drops into the conjunctival sac.
For otic use, the drops are instilled into the affected ear canal according to the prescribed dosage regimen. The patient should lie on their side with the affected ear facing upward, and the drops should be instilled into the ear canal while gently pulling the earlobe backward and upward.
Precautions:
Dexamethasone Eye & Ear Drops should be used with caution in patients with a history of glaucoma, cataracts, or ocular herpes simplex virus infection. Prolonged use may increase the risk of intraocular pressure elevation, cataract formation, or corneal thinning.
Patients should be advised not to touch the tip of the dropper bottle to the eye, ear, or any other surface to prevent contamination. Contact lenses should be removed before instilling eye drops and reinserted after at least 15 minutes to allow for proper absorption.
