Indications:
As an alternative treatment for the following conditions when oral therapy is not appropriate: duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, reflux esophagitis and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Matters needing attention:
1. This product inhibits gastric acid secretion for a long time, so it is not appropriate to take other antacids or acid suppressors at the same time when using this product. In order to prevent excessive acid inhibition, long-term use of large doses is not recommended in general peptic ulcer and other diseases (except for patients with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome). 2. Because this product can significantly increase the pH in the stomach, it may affect the absorption of many drugs.
3. Patients with impaired renal function should not adjust the dose; Use with caution in patients with impaired liver function and reduce as needed.
4. In the treatment of gastric ulcer, gastric cancer should be excluded before use of this product to avoid delay in diagnosis and treatment.
5. If patients take proton pump inhibitors for a long time, pay attention to the possible risk of fracture (especially in elderly patients) during the course of medication, and regularly monitor blood magnesium levels to prevent hypomagnesemia.
6. Due to the interaction between proton pump inhibitors and clopidogrel, it is recommended that patients who are taking clopidogrel communicate with their doctor about the safety of the medication before treatment to ensure the safety of the medication.

Drug interaction:
Because this product can reduce the acidity of the stomach, the absorption of some drugs may be changed. As a result, ketoconazole and itraconazole are absorbed less when treated with omeprazole or other acid inhibitors or antacids. Because omeprazole is metabolized by cytochrome F4502C19 (CYP2C19) in the liver, it prolongates the clearance of other hydrolysates such as diazepam, warfarin (R-warfarin), and phenytoin. This product should be monitored when treated with warfarin and phenytoin, and the dose of warfarin or phenytoin should be reduced if necessary. The serum concentration of phenytoin was not affected in patients treated with continuous phenytoin therapy who were also given 20mg once daily. Similarly, patients on continuous warfarin therapy who were also given 20mg once daily did not change clotting time. When omeprazole is combined with clarithromycin, their blood levels rise. However, when combined with metronidazole or amoxicillin, there is no interaction. These antibiotics are used in combination with omeprazole to eradicate H. pylori.
