Meropenem for Injection 1g.

 This product is white to yellowish powder.


Indications:
Meropenem is indicated for infections in adults and children caused by one or more meropenem sensitive bacteria: pneumonia (including nosocomial pneumonia), urinary tract infections, gynecological infections (such as endometritis and pelvic inflammatory disease), skin soft tissue infections, meningitis, septicaemia. For the empirical treatment of adults with granulocytopenia and fever, this product can be used alone or in combination with antiviral or antifungal drugs.
Meropenem alone or in combination with other antimicrobial agents can be used to treat multiple infections.
For infant patients with neutropenia or primary and secondary immune deficiency, there is no experience in the use of this product.


Adverse reactions:
Main adverse reactions: rash, diarrhea, soft stool, nausea, vomiting. In addition, the major abnormalities in laboratory examination values were increased GOT, increased GPT, increased ALP, and increased eosinophilia.
1. Serious adverse reactions in patients treated with meropenem: Anaphylactic shock, acute renal failure and other severe renal dysfunction, severe colitis with blood stool such as pseudomembranous colitis, etc., central nervous system symptoms such as interstitial pneumonia, PZF syndrome, spasticity, disturbance of consciousness, toxic epidermal necrosis (LYELL syndrome), Stevens-Johnson syndrome, pancytopenia, no granulocytosis, Leukopenia, liver dysfunction, jaundice, hemolytic and thrombophlebitis have also been reported in the same class of drugs.
2. Other adverse reactions in patients treated with meropenem:
a. Allergic reactions: hives, fever, erythema, itching, fever, redness.
b. Blood system: granulocytopenia, thrombocytosis or reduction, lymphocytosis, eosinophilia, erythrocyte, erythrocyte, erythrocyte, erythrocyte, erythrocyte pressure, etc.
c. Nervous system: headache, lethargy.
d. Liver: elevated LDH, γ-GTP, bilirubin, urobilinogen, and jaundice.
e. Kidney: increased β2-microglobulin, BUN, Cr.
f. Digestive system: abdominal pain, loss of appetite, stomatitis, candida infection, vitamin K deficiency symptoms, vitamin B deficiency symptoms.

Drug interaction:

When meropenem is used in combination with drugs with potential nephrotoxicity, note:
The combination of PFM and meropenem can competitively activate renal tubule secretion and inhibit renal excretion, resulting in prolonged elimination half-life of meropenem and increased blood concentration, so the combination of meropenem and PFM is not recommended.
When this product is used with valproic acid at the same time, it will reduce the blood concentration of valproic acid and lead to seizures.
Meropenem should not be used together with valerate, etc.
Meropenem should not be mixed with other drugs.
