Product name:
Ceftazidime for Injection 1g

Character:
This product is white or white crystalline powder.

Indications:
This product can be used for sepsis caused by sensitive gram-negative bacilli, lower respiratory infection, abdominal biliary infection, complex urinary tract infection and severe skin soft tissue infection. It is especially suitable for infection of immunodeficient persons caused by multiple drug-resistant gram-negative bacilli, nosocomial infections, and central nervous system infections caused by gram-negative bacilli or pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Adverse reactions:
Adverse reactions of this product are rare and mild, with an incidence of about 2.5%. A few patients had rash (0.5% ~ 2%), skin itching, drug fever; Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain; Injection site mild phlebitis; Occasionally, transient serum aminotransferase (SGPT), blood urea nitrogen, and serum creatinine may be slightly elevated. Leukopenia, thrombocytopenia and eosinophilia. Mild or moderate reduction of glomerular filtration rate during treatment has also been reported. Coombs positive results occurred in 5% of patients, hemolytic anemia and thrombocytosis were rare, and reversible neutropenia was seen in a few patients. The incidence of double infection was 2.5%, and the common pathogens were Enterococcus and Candida.

Pharmacology and toxicology:

This product is the third generation cephalosporin antibiotics. It has high antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, pneumococcus and other enterobacteriaceae bacteria, Haemophilus influenzae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It also has good antibacterial effect on nitrate-negative bacillus and alcaligenes. It is highly stable for most of the β-lactamases produced by bacteria, so it can still have antibacterial activity against the multi-drug-resistant strains of the above-mentioned Gram-negative bacilli. Gram-positive coccus such as pneumococcus and hemolytic streptococcus are highly sensitive to this product, but this product has only moderate activity against staphylococcus, enterococcus and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus are often resistant to this product. This product has certain antibacterial activity against anaerobic bacteria such as peptococcus and peptostreptococcus, but has poor antibacterial action against Bacteroides fragile.
Its mechanism of action is to bind to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on the bacterial cell membrane, make the transferase acylated, inhibit the synthesis of the bacterial septum and cell wall, affect the cross-linking of mucopeptide components in the cell wall, inhibit cell division and growth, lengthen the bacterial form, and finally dissolve and die.

Storage:
Store in a cool and dry place (no more than 20ºC).
