This product is a film coated sheet, after removing the coating will appear white to yellow.
Indications:
Used for sensitive bacteria
(1) genitourinary infections, including simple, complex urinary tract infections, bacterial prostatitis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae urethritis or cervicitis (including those caused by enzyme producing strains).
(2) Respiratory infections, including acute episodes of bronchial infection and pulmonary infection caused by sensitive gram-negative bacilli.
(3) Gastrointestinal infection, caused by Shigella, Salmonella, enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli, aeromonas hydrophila, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, etc.
(4) Typhoid fever.
(5) Bone and joint infections.
(6) Skin and soft tissue infection.
(7) Systemic infections such as sepsis.
Adverse reactions:
(1) Gastrointestinal reactions are more common and can be manifested as abdominal discomfort or pain, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting.
(2) Central nervous system reactions may include dizziness, headache, lethargy or insomnia.
(3) Allergic reaction: rash, skin itching, occasionally can occur exudative erythema multiforme and angioneurotic edema. A few patients have photosensitivity.
(4) Occasionally can occur:
a. Seizures, mental abnormalities, irritability, confusion, hallucinations, tremors;
b. Hematuria, fever, rash and other manifestations of interstitial nephritis;
c. Crystalline urine, more common in high dose application;
d. Joint pain.
(5) A small number of patients may have increased serum aminotransferase and blood urea nitrogen and decreased peripheral blood image white blood cells, mostly mild and transient.
Pharmacology and toxicology:
This product has a broad spectrum of antibacterial action, especially against aerobic gram-negative bacilli with high antibacterial activity, and has good antibacterial action against the following bacteria in vitro: most bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae, including Acidobacteria, clostridium, Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio, Yersinia, etc. It also has antibacterial activity against multi-drug resistant bacteria. The penicillin-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella have high antibacterial activity. It has antibacterial effect on most strains of Pseudomonas such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This product has antibacterial activity against methicillin-sensitive staphylococcus, and only moderate antibacterial activity against streptococcus pneumoniae, hemolytic streptococcus and Enterococcus faecalis. It has good antimicrobial activity against Chlamydia trachomatis, mycoplasma and Legionella, and also has antibacterial activity against tuberculosis bacillus and atypical Mycobacterium. Poor antibacterial activity against anaerobic bacteria.
Ciprofloxacin is A bactericide that causes bacterial death by inhibiting DNA synthesis and replication by acting on the A subunit of bacterial DNA helicase.
