Character:
This product is a colorless clear liquid.

Indications:
(1) Skin and mucous membrane allergy: suitable for long-term, seasonal allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria, angioneurotic edema, allergic reaction to blood or plasma products, skin scratches.
(2) Motion sickness: prevention and treatment of motion sickness, seasickness, and plane sickness.
(3) For anesthesia and adjuvant treatment before and after surgery, including sedation, hypnosis, analgesia, antiemesis.
(4) For the prevention and treatment of radiation sickness or drug-induced nausea and vomiting.

Adverse reactions:
Promethazine is a phenothiazine derivative, which has no obvious side effects in small doses, but common side effects of phenothiazines can occur in large amounts and long-term application.
(1) Drowsiness is more common; Less common are blurred vision or color blindness (mild), dizziness, dryness of the mouth, nose and throat, tinnitus, rash, stomach pain or discomfort, unresponsiveness (most common in children), fainting (low blood pressure), nausea or vomiting (with surgery and < or > other drugs), and even jaundice.
(2) Increase skin sensitivity to light, multiple nightmares, excitability, excitability, hallucination, toxic delirium, children are prone to extrapyramidal reactions. The incidence of these reactions is not high.
(3) Cardiovascular adverse reactions are rare, with increased blood pressure and occasionally mild blood pressure reduction. Leukopenia, granulocytopenia and hypoplastic anemia are rare.

Pharmacology and toxicology:
Promethazine is a phenothiazine antihistamine, and can also be used for nausea, motion sickness, and sedation and hypnosis.
(1) Antihistamine effect: Competing with histamine released by tissues for H1 receptors, it can antagonize the contraction or contracture of the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract, trachea, bronchus or bronchioles, and relieve the spasmodic and congested effect of histamine on the smooth muscle of the bronchus.
(2) Antiemetic effect: It may be related to inhibiting the emetic chemical receptive area of the medulla oblongata.
(3) Anti-motion sickness: It may act on vestibular and vomiting centers and medullary receptors in the midbrain through central anti-cholinergic activity, mainly blocking the excitation of cholinergic synaptic labyrinth impulses in the vestibular nucleus.
(4) Sedative hypnotic effect: It may be due to indirectly reducing the irritability of the brain stem ascending reticular activation system.
