Meloxicam Injection 15mg/1.5mL (10 mg/mL)

Composition:

Each 1.5mL ampoule contains:

• Meloxicam - 15 mg (10 mg/mL)
• Excipients: Glycine, Sodium chloride, Water for injection

Description:

Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), reducing inflammation and pain with lower gastrointestinal side effects compared to non-selective NSAIDs.

Indications:

Meloxicam Injection is indicated for the short-term treatment of:

• Acute pain and inflammation in musculoskeletal conditions
• Postoperative pain
• Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis exacerbations

Dosage & Administration:

Intramuscular (IM) Injection:

• Recommended dose: 7.5-15 mg once daily
• Maximum dose: 15 mg per day

Administration:

• Administer deep IM injection only
• Do not use IV or intra-arterial routes

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to Meloxicam or other NSAIDs
• Active gastrointestinal ulcer or bleeding
• Severe liver or kidney impairment
• History of NSAID-induced asthma or anaphylaxis

Precautions:

• Use with caution in:
  • Elderly patients (higher risk of side effects)
  • Cardiovascular disease (risk of thrombosis)
  • Renal impairment (monitor kidney function)

Adverse Reactions:

• Common: Nausea, headache, dizziness, injection site pain
• Serious: Gastrointestinal bleeding, liver toxicity, hypertension
