Treat adults (≥18 years of age) with upper and lower respiratory tract infections, such as acute sinusitis, acute episodes of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, and skin and soft tissue infections.
Usage and dosage:
Dose range
Oral moxifloxacin tablet 0.4g once (1 tablet), once a day, is recommended for any indication.
Use for adults
Tablets are taken with water, and the duration of administration is not affected by diet.
Treatment time
The duration of treatment should be determined according to the severity of symptoms or clinical response. Upper and lower respiratory tract infections can be treated in the following ways:
Acute onset of chronic bronchitis: 5 days
Community-acquired pneumonia: 10 days
Acute sinusitis: 7 days
The recommended duration of treatment for skin and soft tissue infections is 7 days.
Moxifloxacin 0.4g tablets have been used for up to 14 days in clinical trials.
Old people
Elderly people do not need to adjust the dosage of medication.
Children
The efficacy and safety of moxifloxacin in children and adolescents have not been established.
Liver injury
Moxifloxacin dose should not be adjusted in patients with liver impairment (contraindicated in patients with severely impaired liver function Child-Pugh C).
Abnormal renal function
Patients with any degree of impaired renal function (including creatinine clearance ≤30ml/min/1.73m2) and patients with chronic dialysis, such as hemodialysis and continuous peritoneal dialysis, do not need to adjust the dose of moxifloxacin.
Interracial differences
There is no need to adjust the dose between races.
Matters needing attention:
If some patients develop hypersensitivity and allergy after the first dose, the doctor should be informed immediately.
In a very small number of patients, life-threatening shock due to anaphylaxis occurs after the first dose.
