Product name:
Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets
Character:
150mg/12.5mg: Light pink double convex oval film coating, notched. One side is engraved with a heart, the other with 2875.
Indications:
Treatment of essential hypertension. This product is used in patients whose blood pressure cannot be adequately controlled by monotherapy.
Adverse reactions:
It is used to treat essential hypertension. This fixed-dose combination is indicated for the treatment of patients whose blood pressure is not effectively controlled by irbesartan or hydrochlorothiazide alone.
Overdose:
There are no specific data on the treatment of overdose. Patients should be closely monitored and treatment should be holistic and supportive. Management depends on the time of ingestion and the severity of symptoms. Recommended measures include emesis and/or gastric lavage. Active carbon is useful for drug overdose treatment. Serum electrolyte and creatinine levels should be monitored regularly. If hypotension occurs, the patient should take a decubitus position and quickly replenish salt and blood volume.
The most likely manifestations of irbesartan overdose are hypotension and tachycardia. Bradycardia can also occur.
When hydrochlorothiazide is in excess, it occurs due to excessive diuretic loss (hypokalemia, hypochloremia, hyponatremia) and dehydration. The most common signs and symptoms of overdose are nausea and lethargy. Hypokalemia can cause muscle spasms and/or aggravate arrhythmias associated with digitalin or certain antiarrhythmic disorders.
Hemodialysis does not clear irbesartan. The extent to which hemodialysis clears hydrochlorothiazide has also not been studied.
Storage:
Do not store in a place above 30ºC, store in the original packaging.
