Pharmacology and toxicology:
Existing experience suggests that symptoms of overdose with this product alone are usually mild. Central nervous system depression with disorientation and prolonged sedation has been reported, as well as tachycardia, mild hypertension or hypotension. However, if the dose is significantly higher than the therapeutic dose, especially when used in excess with other drugs, it can cause very serious (even fatal) consequences. Patients with drug overdose should be given appropriate symptomatic and supportive treatment in a timely manner. At present, there is no known specific antidote for mirtazapine, and activated carbon or gastric lavage can be considered.
