Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium for Oral Suspension
Each 5mL of reconstituted suspension contains:
Amoxicillin: 125mg, 250mg, or 400mg
Clavulanate Potassium: 31.25mg, 62.5mg, or 57mg (equivalent to clavulanic acid)
Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium for Oral Suspension is a combination antibiotic medication. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that fights bacteria, while clavulanate potassium is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents bacterial resistance. This combination enhances the effectiveness of the treatment against a broader range of bacteria. The oral suspension form is particularly suitable for pediatric patients or those who have difficulty swallowing tablets.
This medication is used to treat infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including:
Respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia)
Urinary tract infections (e.g., cystitis, pyelonephritis)
Skin and soft tissue infections (e.g., cellulitis, abscesses)
Ear, nose, and throat infections (e.g., otitis media, tonsillitis)
Bone and joint infections
Adults and children ≥40kg:

250mg/62.5mg per 5mL: 5mL every 8 hours.
400mg/57mg per 5mL: 5mL every 12 hours.
Children <40kg: Dosage is based on body weight (typically 20-45mg/kg/day of amoxicillin component, divided into 2-3 doses).
Administration: Shake the bottle well before use. Use the provided measuring device to ensure accurate dosing. Can be taken with or without food, but administration at the start of a meal may improve absorption and reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
