Product name:
Gentamycin BP Injection 80mg/2ml

Character:
The product is colorless or almost colorless clear liquid.

Indications:
1. It is suitable for the treatment of serious infections caused by sensitive gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Proteus, Serrella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and methicillin-sensitive strains of Staphylococcus, such as sepsis, lower respiratory tract infection, intestinal infection, pelvic infection, abdominal infection, skin soft tissue infection, complex urinary tract infection, etc. The treatment of abdominal infection and pelvic infection should be combined with anti-anaerobic drugs, clinical use of gentamicin and other antibacterial drugs combined. In combination with penicillin (or ampicillin), enterococcal infections are treated.
2. For central nervous system infection caused by sensitive bacteria, such as meningitis and ventriculitis, intrathecal injection of this product can be used as auxiliary treatment at the same time.

Adverse reactions:
1. The drug may cause ototoxic reactions such as hearing loss, tinnitus or ear fullness, and may cause unsteady walking and vertigo when affecting vestibular function. Nephrotoxic reactions such as hematuria, significantly reduced frequency of urination or decreased urine volume, decreased appetite, and extreme thirst may also occur. Low incidence of neuromuscular block or renal toxicity caused by dyspnea, lethargy, weakness and so on. Occasionally, skin rash, nausea, vomiting, hypohepatic function, leukopenia, granulocytopenia, anemia, hypotension, etc.
2. A small number of patients may have ototoxic symptoms such as hearing loss, tinnitus or ear fullness after withdrawal, which should be paid attention to.
3. Systemic administration combined with intrathecal injection may cause leg convulsions, rashes, fever and systemic spasms.

Pharmacology and toxicology:

This product is aminoglycoside antibiotic. It has good antibacterial effect on various gram-negative bacteria and Gram-positive bacteria, and has good antibacterial effect on various enterobacteriaceae bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Salmonella, Shigella, Enterobacter, Serratia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Neisseria and Haemophilus influenzae are moderately sensitive to this product. It also has certain effects on Brucella, Yersinia pestis, Acinetobacter and campylobacter foetus. About 80% of methicillin-sensitive strains in Staphylococcus genus (including Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase negative staphylococcus) have good antibacterial action, but most methicillin-resistant strains are resistant to this product. The effect on Streptococcus and Streptococcus pneumoniae was poor, and enterococcus was mostly resistant to this product. When this product is combined with β-lactam, most of the synergistic antibacterial effects can be obtained. The mechanism of action of this product is to bind to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and inhibit the synthesis of bacterial proteins. In recent years, gentamicin-resistant strains of Gram-negative bacteria have increased significantly.

Storage:
Keep in a cool and dark place (no more than 20 ° C from light).
