Component:
L-valine-2 -[(6-oxo-2-amino-1, 6-dihydro-9h-purine-9-l) methoxy-ethyl ester] hydrochloride.

Character:

This product is a film coating, after removing the film coating will appear white to almost white.

Indications:

This product is suitable for the treatment of shingles.

This product is suitable for the treatment of herpes simplex virus infection.

This product is used to prevent (inhibit) recurrence of herpes simplex virus infection.
 

Usage and dosage:

adult

Herpes zoster treatment: Oral administration of 500mg, 2 tablets, 3 times a day for 7 days. Treatment of herpes simplex: 500mg orally, twice a day. First-time patients may be more severe, and the course of treatment may be extended to 10 days. For recurrent infections, the course of treatment should be 5 days. It is recommended to start treatment during the prodromal phase or when signs and symptoms first appear.

Herpes simplex virus infection treatment (suppression) :

For patients with normal immune function, 500 mg of this product is taken orally, once a day.

For patients with frequent relapses (≥10 times per year), a dose regimen of 250mg twice daily is better.

For immunodeficient patients, the regimen is 500 mg twice daily.

Renal impairment

For patients with significantly impaired renal function, the dosage of this product should be adjusted as follows:

In hemodialysis patients, the dosage of this product should be in accordance with creatinine clearance. The recommended dose for patients is 15ml/min, but should be administered after completion of hemodialysis.

Liver lesion

Patients with mild to moderate cirrhosis (liver synthesis function can be maintained) do not need to adjust the dosage of this product.

Pharmacokinetic data in patients with advanced cirrhosis (impaired synthesis of the liver and shunt of the portal vein system) suggest that dose adjustment is not necessary, but clinical experience in this area is limited.

Matters needing attention:

Humoral state

Special care should be taken to ensure that patients, especially older patients, consume adequate amounts of water to prevent dehydration.

Kidney damage patients:

The dose of valaciclovir should be adjusted in patients with significant renal impairment (see [Administration and dosage]). Patients with a history of altered kidney function are at higher risk for neurologic adverse events (see [Adverse events]).

Effects on driving and mechanical ability

No special precautions.
