Indications:
Amoxicillin is suitable for the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria (strains that do not produce β-lactamase) :
1. Otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis and other upper respiratory tract infections caused by hemolytic streptococcus, streptococcus pneumoniae, staphylococcus or haemophilus influenzae.
2. Urogenital tract infections caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis or Enterococcus faecalis.
3. Skin and soft tissue infections caused by hemolytic streptococcus, staphylococcus or Escherichia coli.
4. Lower respiratory tract infections such as acute bronchitis and pneumonia caused by hemolytic streptococcus, streptococcus pneumoniae, staphylococcus or Haemophilus influenzae.
5. Acute simple gonorrhea.
6. This product can also be used to treat typhoid fever, typhoid carriers and leptospirosis; Amoxicillin can also be combined with clarithromycin and Lansoprazole to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in stomach and duodenum and reduce the recurrence rate of gastrointestinal ulcer.
Adverse reactions:
1. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pseudomembranous enteritis and other gastrointestinal reactions.
2. Rashes, drug fever and allergic reactions such as asthma.
3. Anemia, thrombocytopenia, eosinophilia, etc.
4. Serum aminotransferase can be slightly increased.
5. Double infections caused by candida or drug-resistant bacteria.
6. Occasionally, central nervous system symptoms such as excitement, anxiety, insomnia, dizziness and behavioral abnormalities are seen.
Pharmacology and toxicology:
Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic. It is effective against streptococcus pneumoniae, hemolytic Streptococcus and other streptococci, Staphylococcus penicillinase, Enterococcus faecalis and other aerobic gram-positive bacteria. Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella, Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoea and other aerobic gram-negative strains of β-lactamase and Helicobacter pylori have good antibacterial activity. Amoxicillin plays a bactericidal role by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, which can make bacteria dissolve and rupture quickly into spheroids.
