Lysine Acetylsalicylate for Injection 0.9g
Composition:
Each vial contains:
- Lysine Acetylsalicylate - 0.9g (equivalent to Acetylsalicylic Acid/Aspirin)
Description:
Lysine Acetylsalicylate is a soluble form of Acetylsalicylic Acid (Aspirin), with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and antiplatelet properties. It is rapidly converted into salicylic acid in the body and is used for treating pain, inflammation, and cardiovascular conditions requiring anticoagulation.
Indications:
- Acute pain management (postoperative pain, musculoskeletal pain)
- Fever reduction
- Inflammatory conditions (rheumatic diseases, arthritis)
- Acute coronary syndrome (ACS)
- Thrombosis prevention in high-risk patients
Dosage & Administration:
Intravenous (IV) or Intramuscular (IM) Use
- Pain & Fever: 0.9g once every 6-8 hours, maximum 3.6g per day
- Antiplatelet therapy: 0.9g once daily
- Children: Not recommended unless advised by a physician
Reconstitution & Administration:
- IV injection: Dissolve 0.9g vial in 10mL sterile water, administer slowly over 5-10 minutes
- IM injection: Dissolve 0.9g vial in 5mL sterile water, inject deep intramuscularly
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to aspirin or NSAIDs
- Active gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers
- Severe renal or hepatic impairment
- Hemorrhagic disorders or bleeding tendency
- Pregnancy (third trimester)
Precautions:
- Monitor for signs of gastrointestinal bleeding (black stools, vomiting blood)
- Use cautiously in patients with asthma, as it may trigger bronchospasm
- Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment
Adverse Reactions:
- Common: Nausea, stomach discomfort, mild bleeding tendencies
- Serious: Gastrointestinal bleeding, allergic reactions, kidney toxicity, Reye's syndrome (in children)
Drug Interactions:
- Anticoagulants (Warfarin, Heparin): Increased bleeding risk
- NSAIDs: Higher risk of gastric irritation and bleeding
- Methotrexate: Increased toxicity
- Diuretics & ACE inhibitors: Reduced efficacy in controlling blood pressure
Overdose & Management:
- Symptoms: Tinnitus, dizziness, hyperventilation, metabolic acidosis
- Treatment: Supportive care, IV fluids, bicarbonate therapy, hemodialysis if necessary
Storage Conditions:
- Store below 25°C, protect from light and moisture
- Use reconstituted solution immediately
