Paracetamol Infusion is a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution designed for intravenous administration. It contains 1.0g of Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) per 100ml, providing a rapid and effective option for pain relief and fever reduction in patients who cannot take oral medications.
Active Ingredient: Paracetamol (Acetaminophen)
Concentration: 1.0g/100ml (10mg/ml)
Formulation: Clear, colorless solution
Administration: Intravenous infusion
Packaging: Single-dose bag or bottle, 100ml per unit
Pain Management: Mild to moderate pain relief in postoperative or acute care settings.
Fever Reduction: Management of fever in adults and children when oral administration is not feasible.
Alternative to Oral Paracetamol: Suitable for patients who are nil by mouth (NPO), unconscious, or unable to tolerate oral medications.
Paracetamol works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins in the central nervous system, thereby reducing pain and fever.
It has minimal anti-inflammatory effects, making it suitable for patients who cannot tolerate NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).
Adults and Adolescents (≥12 years):
Single Dose: 1g (100ml) every 4-6 hours as needed.
Maximum Daily Dose: 4g (4000mg) in 24 hours.

Maximum Daily Dose: 60mg/kg/day.
Administration:
Must be administered intravenously over 15 minutes.
Can be given as a bolus or as part of a larger infusion.
Rapid Onset: Provides quick pain relief and fever reduction due to direct intravenous administration.
Well-Tolerated: Generally safe with a low risk of gastrointestinal side effects compared to NSAIDs.
Versatile: Suitable for a wide range of patients, including those with contraindications to oral medications.
Storage: Store at controlled room temperature (15-30°C). Protect from light and freezing.
Shelf Life: Typically 24-36 months, depending on the manufacturer.
Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment or known hypersensitivity to paracetamol.
Use with caution in patients with mild to moderate hepatic or renal impairment.
Avoid exceeding the maximum daily dose to prevent hepatotoxicity.
Common side effects are rare but may include nausea, vomiting, or hypotension.
Overdose can lead to severe liver damage; early administration of acetylcysteine is the antidote.
