This product is white or white powder or crystalline powder, odorless.

Indications:

It is suitable for infections caused by the following sensitive bacteria: lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, septicaemia, skin soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections. It can also be used in surgery to prevent infection. A single dose of 1g cefonicil given before surgery can reduce the incidence of postoperative infection due to contamination or potential contamination during surgery. The use of cefonicil during caesarean section (after cutting the umbilical cord) may reduce the incidence of some postoperative infections.
 

Usage and dosage:

The dose and course of administration are determined according to the severity of infection, the patient's body condition and the sensitivity of bacteria. Cefonicil has a long half-life, and administration of 1g cefonicil can maintain 24 hours to achieve therapeutic effect on sensitive bacteria. The usual dose for adults is 1g every 24 hours and is available for intramuscular, intravenous and intravenous infusion. Up to 2g is also possible in some cases. The details are as follows:

Patients with normal renal function

The daily dose for mildly to moderately infected adults is 1g, once every 24 hours. In severe or life-threatening infections, 2g per day, once every 24 hours;

Uncomplicated urinary tract infection: 0.5g daily, once every 24 hours;

Surgical prevention of infection: A single dose of 1g is given 1 hour before surgery, and there is no need to use it again during and after surgery. If necessary, such as joint plastic surgery or thoracotomy can be repeated for 2 days; This product should be given only after umbilical ligation during pre-laparotomy.

The course of treatment depends on the condition.

Matters needing attention:

1. Patients who are allergic to penicillin may also be allergic to this product, so those who have a history of penicillin allergy or other allergies should use with caution. Lidocaine should not be used as a solvent in persons allergic to anesthetics.

2. This product can cause intestinal disorders at the beginning of treatment and during treatment, leading to severe pseudomembranous enteritis, and should be vigilant when diarrhea occurs. Once it occurs, mild discontinuation is sufficient, and moderate to severe patients should be given electrolyte replacement, protein, and appropriate antibiotics (such as vancomycin).

3. Patients with severe disease must always pay attention to renal function when they are treated with large doses or combined aminoglycoside antibiotics. Patients with kidney or liver damage should be extra careful when using this drug.

4. Long-term use of any broad spectrum antibiotics may lead to excessive growth of other non-sensitive bacteria, and attention should be paid to the occurrence of double infections.
