Indications:

It is used to treat intestinal and parenteral amebiasis (such as amebic liver abscess, pleural amebiasis, etc.). It can also be used to treat vaginal trichomoniasis, balsamiasis and cutaneous leishmaniasis, guinea worm infection, etc. At present, it is also widely used in the treatment of anaerobic bacteria infection.
 

Usage and dosage:

1, adult common dosage

Intestinal amebiasis, 0.4 ~ 0.6g (2-3 tablets), 3 times a day, the course of treatment for 7 days; Extrauterine amebiasis, 0.6-0.8g (3-4 tablets), 3 times a day for 20 days.

Giardiasis, 0.4g (2 tablets), 3 times a day, treatment for 5 to 10 days.

Dracunculiasis, 0.2 (1 tablet) g, 3 times a day, treatment for 7 days.

Balsamiasis, 0.2g (1 tablet), 2 times a day, treatment for 5 days.

Cutaneous leishmaniasis, 0.2g (1 tablet), 4 times a day, 10 days of treatment. Repeat the treatment after 10 days.

Trichomoniasis, 0.2g (1 tablet), 4 times a day, treatment for 7 days; Suppository can be used at the same time, 0.5g per night into the vagina, for 7 to 10 days.

Anaerobic bacteria infection, oral daily 0.6 ~ 1.2g (3-6 tablets), divided into 3 times, 7 ~ 10 days for a course of treatment.

2. Common dosage for children

Amebiasis, according to body weight 35 ~ 50mg/kg per day, divided into 3 oral, 10 days for a course of treatment.

Giardiasis, according to the body weight of 15 ~ 25mg/kg, three times a day, 10 days; The doses used to treat dracunculiasis, balsamiasis, and trichomoniasis are the same as Giardiasis.

Anaerobic bacteria infection, oral daily according to body weight 20 ~ 50mg/kg.

Matters needing attention:

(1) Interference with diagnosis: metabolites of this product can make urine dark red.

(2) The dose of the original liver disease should be reduced. Discontinue the drug if dyskinesia or other central nervous system symptoms occur. A white blood cell count should be done before repeating a course of treatment. In patients with anaerobic bacteria infection combined with renal failure, the dosing interval should be extended from 8 hours to 12 hours.

(3) This product can inhibit alcohol metabolism, should abstain from alcohol during the drug, after drinking may appear abdominal pain, vomiting, headache and other symptoms.
