This product is white or white powder or crystal.

Indications:

Amoxicillin is recommended for patients with the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria (strains that do not produce βlactamase) who are more serious and require hospitalization or cannot be taken orally.

1. Otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis and other upper respiratory tract infections caused by hemolytic streptococcus, streptococcus pneumoniae, staphylococcus or haemophilus influenzae.

2. Urogenital tract infections caused by E. coli, Proteus mirabilis, or Enterococcus faecalis.

3. Skin and soft tissue infections caused by hemolytic streptococcus, staphylococcus or Escherichia coli.

4. Lower respiratory tract infections such as acute bronchitis and pneumonia caused by hemolytic streptococcus, streptococcus pneumoniae, staphylococcus or Haemophilus influenzae.

5. This product can also be used to treat typhoid fever and leptospirosis.

 

Usage and dosage:

Intramuscular injection or intravenous drip after dilution. Adults 0.5 to 1g once, every 6 to 8 hours. Children daily dose according to body weight 50 ~ 100mg/kg, divided into 3 ~ 4 times.

Patients with severe renal impairment need to adjust the dose, in which the endogenous creatinine clearance of 10 to 30ml/ min is 0.25 to 0.5g every 12 hours; Patients with endogenous creatinine clearance of less than 10ml/ min are 0.25 to 0.5g every 24 hours. Hemodialysis can clear this product, and amoxicillin should be given 1g after each hemodialysis.

For severe infection, it can be combined with sulbactam at the rate of 2:1, 2g (2) of this product and 1g of sulbactam each time for adults, dissolved with appropriate amount of sterilized water for injection, and added with 5% glucose solution 150-200ml intravenously, once every 8 hours.

Matters needing attention:

1. Penicillins can occasionally cause anaphylactic shock, especially in patients with a history of penicillin or cephalosporin allergy. Prior to medication, you must ask for a history of drug allergy and perform a skin test for penicillin. If anaphylactic shock occurs, immediate rescue should be carried out to keep the airway open, oxygen inhalation and adrenalin, glucocorticoid and other treatment measures.

2. The use of this product in patients with infectious mononucleosis is prone to rash, and should be avoided.

3. Patients with longer course of treatment should check liver, kidney function and blood routine.

4. Amoxicillin can cause false positives in urine sugar tests using Benedict or Fehling reagents.

5. The following situations should be used with caution

(1) Asthma, eczema, hay fever, urticaria and other allergic disease history.

(2) Dosage may need to be adjusted in the elderly and when renal function is severely impaired.

6. When large doses are used, attention should be paid to detecting serum sodium.
