Component:
The main ingredient of this product is cefoxitin sodium.

Character:

This product is white to white powder, strong hygroscopicity.

Indications:

It is suitable for the following infections caused by bacteria sensitive to this product:

· Upper and lower respiratory tract infections

· Urinary tract infections include uncomplicated gonorrhea

· Peritonitis and other intraperitoneal and pelvic infections

· Sepsis (including typhoid fever)

· Gynecological infection

· Soft tissue infection of bone and joint

· Endocarditis

Because this product is effective against anaerobic bacteria and stable against β-lactamase, it is particularly suitable for aerobic and anaerobic mixed infections, as well as infections caused by β-lactamase producing bacteria that are sensitive to this product.

 

Usage and dosage:

Intramuscularly, intravenously or intravenously. The usual dosage for adults is 1-2g/ time, every 6-8 hours. Or adjust the dose according to the sensitivity of pathogenic bacteria and illness (see table below)

Patients with renal insufficiency need to adjust the dose according to creatinine clearance, according to the following table:

This product is used for intramuscular injection, soluble in 0.5% lidocaine hydrochloride 2ml per gram; For intravenous injection, dissolve in 10ml sterile water for injection per gram; When administered, 1-2g cefoxitin sodium is dissolved in 50ml or 100ml normal saline or 5% or 10% glucose injection.

Matters needing attention:

1. Use with caution if you are allergic to penicillin.

2. Use with caution in patients with renal function impairment and a history of gastrointestinal disease (especially colitis).

3. When combined with aminoglycoside antibiotics, this product will increase renal toxicity.

Pharmacokinetics:
After intramuscular injection of 1g in normal volunteers, the peak blood concentration reached 24μg/ml in 20-30 minutes. After 1g of intravenous injection, the blood concentration reached a peak of 110μg/ml at 5 minutes and was lower than 1μg/ml at 4 hours. The half-life of this product is 41-59 minutes after intravenous injection and 64.8 minutes after intramuscular injection. After 6 hours, about 85% of the drug was excreted by the kidney in the prototype, and the urine concentration of the drug could reach 3000μg/ml or more after 1g of the product was injected into the muscle.

This product is widely distributed in the body, and can quickly enter various body fluids after administration, including pleural fluid, ascites, bile, but the penetration rate of cerebrospinal fluid is low, and the protein binding rate is 80.7%.

Cefoxitin sodium for injection is primarily excreted from the kidney in prototype form, with renal clearance including glomerular filtration and renal tubule excretion, and 85% of the administered dose is excreted from the urine by the kidney within 6 hours after administration, with a plasma elimination half-life of 1 hour.
