Component:
Misoprostol.

Character:

White/quasi-white, hexagonal tablet. Each tablet contains misoprostol 0.2mg.

Indications:

Treatment of duodenal and gastric ulcers, including those caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) in arthritis patients, to ensure that they can continue to be treated with NSAID. It can also be used to prevent ulcers caused by the use of NSaids.
 

Usage and dosage:

Adult:

Treatment of duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, and peptic ulcer caused by NSAIDS:

0.8mg daily at breakfast, and/or lunch, dinner, and bedtime (divided into 2 or 4 doses). Even if symptoms resolve quickly, treatment should last at least 4 weeks at first. In most patients, the ulcer heals within 4 weeks, but the treatment can be extended to 8 weeks if needed. If there is a recurrence of ulcer can start a new course of treatment.

Prevention of peptic ulcers caused by NSAIDS: 0.2mg 2, 3, or 4 times daily. The course of treatment and dosage are determined according to the condition. The dosage should be individualized according to the clinical condition of the patient.

The elderly:

It can be taken in regular doses.

Patients with renal insufficiency:

Available data suggest that patients with renal insufficiency do not need to adjust the dosage.

Patients with liver insufficiency:

This product is metabolized by the whole body fatty acid oxidation system. Its metabolism and plasma concentration did not change significantly in patients with hepatic insufficiency.

Children

The use of misoprostol in the treatment of peptic ulcers in children or those caused by NSAIDS has not been evaluated.

Matters needing attention:

Fertile women should not be treated with misoprostol until pregnancy has been ruled out and should be fully informed of the importance of effective contraception during treatment. If pregnancy is suspected, discontinue use of this product.

We recommend that these patients only use this product in the following circumstances:

- Use effective birth control.
